A Valentine’s Day Quickie Dessert…Strawberry Cream Cheese Filled Croissants with Chocolate Drizzle

No time to bake?…or…don’t know how to bake?…
Yet, want to have a delicious, SPECIAL dessert for Valentine’s Day?
Here’s a quick dessert to put together.

With just croissants, cream cheese, strawberries preserves and chocolate syrup, you can make a fast, delicious Valentine’s Day dessert.

What I like best, (besides the fact that we start with a french pasty, croissants, my favorite) is the yin and yang of temperatures.

The cool cream cheese against the hot, toasted croissant is HEAVENLY…
or should I say…LOVELY.

You can add more or less filling ingredients….a little more sugar or less etc. The recipe below is just a guide.

You can add different flavor preserves, or even fresh strawberries or other berries if you prefer.

Try this…you’ll LOVE it…I do.

Strawberry Cream Cheese Filled Croissants with Chocolate Drizzle

A Valentine Quickie Dessert ~ Strawberry Cream Cheese Filled Croissant with Chocolate Drizzle

Recipe by Carmen Ortiz of Baking is my Zen

Yield: Serving for 2

INGREDIENTS:
cream cheese, about 4-6 ounces
1-2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
pinch salt
1 tablespoon heavy cream
1-2 tablespoons strawberry preserves
2 croissants
Chocolate syrup

DIRECTIONS:

1) Put cream cheese in bowl. Mix.
2) Add sugar.
3) Add vanilla extract.
4) Add salt.
5) Add heavy cream. Mix. Set aside.
6) Put strawberry preserves in bowl. Mix. Set aside.
7) Slice croissant in half.
8) Toast croissants.
9) Spread strawberry preserves on one side of a croissant.
10) Spread cream cheese on other side of the croissant.
11) Place top side over bottom, like a sandwich. Put on plate.
12) Drizzle chocolate over strawberry cream cheese filled croissant.
13) Repeat steps 9-12 for second croissant.
14) Enjoy warm.

DIRECTIONS:

Put cream cheese in bowl. Mix.

Add salt.

Add sugar. Mix.

Add heavy cream. Mix. Set aside.

Put strawberry preserves in bowl. Mix. Set aside.

Slice croissant in half.

Toast croissants.

Spread strawberry preserves on one side of a croissant.

Spread cream cheese on other side of the croissant.
